During a luncheon Aug. 18 held by the Oroville Region Sewerage Commission at Sank Park, rebate checks were handed out to managers of the region's Joint Powers Agencies.
Due to the structural issues in the economy 'stimuli' is now becoming an annual event. We started with the Bush rebate checks of 2008. Of course we had the mega stimulus ($900Bish) launched in spring 2009 that generally covered 2 years (apprx $450B a year). That was topped off with a 2% .
Twelve thousand Floridians have been waiting more than two years for a solar rebate promised by the state. Thousands of others may have been disqualified on a technicality. And when the rebates begin flowing in a few weeks, they will be far smaller than originally promised.
STILLWATER, Okla. — Most Payne County taxpayers who paid too much in personal property tax in recent years have received rebate checks in the mail.
The state has confirmed there is $25 million left for state solar rebates, enough to give homes and businesses about 55 percent of the rebates they were expecting before the Florida Solar Rebate Program ran out of money in 2009.
