Although many of its viewers were not alive during its original run, "I Love Lucy" continues to be a television favorite. The show still has fans worldwide that collect memorabilia and watch the reruns faithfully. You can even order "I Love Lucy" personal bank checks.
When it comes to your finances, there is no better way to show off your style then to carry stylish personalized checks that showcase your interests. If you are a fan, then sporting "I Love Lucy" checks can be a good tribute to the show. Yet, what, exactly, makes the show so beloved?
Originally run from 1951-1957, "I Love Lucy" is a situational comedy that was shown on CBS. It was nominated for many Emmy and won four during its time on TV. I also holds the honor of being the first television show to have woman as the main character.
The concept of "I Love Lucy" featured the plights of a married couple in the 1950's. Lucille Ball, a comedienne, played Lucy. Lucy was constantly getting into mischief and finding trouble. Along with witty dialogue, Lucille Ball was prone to physical comedy as well, making the show hugely amusing.
Even though "I Love Lucy" was not the first television show to host a main character that expecting a child, much attention was given to the fact that Lucille's real life pregnancy was part of the show. Filming even coincided with the birth of Lucille's baby so that the new baby could be incorporated into the show for publicity purposes.
Nevertheless, it was Lucy's personality itself that held audiences captivated over the years. Her naivet and ingenuousness made her endearing to the public. She was likeable in the sense that even when she was in trouble caused by her own doings, the audience wanted to see her get out of it.
In addition to Lucy, and her real life husband Desi, two other main characters on the show were Fred and Ethel. Ethel was Lucy's best friend and usually ended up in comical predicaments with Lucy. Although Ethel herself was a fairly grounded person, she generally found herself in Lucy's fate.
Time magazine voted "I Love Lucy" as one of its top 100 television shows of all time in 2007. In 2002, it was also listed as the #2 most popular shows, after Seinfield.
These days, "I Love Lucy" is still watched as reruns by people worldwide. It has been translated into dozens of foreign languages as well. Lucy's allure is without doubt globally appealing.
Customers who decide to purchase personal checks with the "I Love Lucy" motif, you will be sure to find her signature red curly hair in the images. In most places, you are also able to buy checkbook covers and labels to match the checks.
Acquiring personalized bank checks in the past has occasionally been costly. Yet, if you purchase them online you can generally save as much money as 50% than if you ordered them from your local bank. It typically takes about 2-3 days to receive the checks which means it takes about the same amount of time as it would take to get them from your bank.
