Side Tear Checks, the New Way To Pay
If you are one of those people that is constantly taking the time to eloquently write out your personal check, only to tear it in half as you are ripping it out of the checkbook, then you might be interested in side tear checks.
Now, along the way, technology has become pretty advanced. Just take a look at the iphone. Is there anything that it doesn't do? From your car you can order a textbook, take a picture, book a flight, and check movie times. Oh, you can also make a phone call, too, but who does that anymore?
There are some innovations that are really useful and you wonder what you did without them. These are usually small advancements that help you out in day-to-day life, like air fresheners. You might not even notice the benefits of these items, but if they were gone you would wonder how your survived before without them. Now, we have side tear checks.
Side tear checks do not look like much from the outset. As a matter of fact, they look like pretty run of the mill checks. They will not tell you when you are overdrawn, remind you to pick up the milk from the store, or automatically start your car for you when it is cold outside. They might, however, keep you from tearing your checks in half.
So what makes these checks different from regular checks? The perforation makes them different. Instead of tearing them out at the top, they are perforated on the left side. By doing so, you have less area of paper to rip out of the checkbook.
It might sound like a simple concept, but it works. If you're a check-writer, and you find yourself paying a lot of your bills this way, then you'll see the difference right away. One good grip and one little tear and that check is out of the checkbook, no rips included.
Side tear checks are incredibly easy to use and convenient. In addition, they might save you money on checks since you probably won't rip as many in the process.
It doesn't get rid of any of the style or fun of writing checks and a lot of companies offer as many decorative images in side tear checks as they do the old set up checks. You can still have your "I Love Lucy", Betty Boop, and Disney characters on your checks but now you will not have to go through the pain of tearing through their wonderful faces.
It is also possible to have the writing on the side of the check come as large as 15% bigger than normal. This can help you if you normally have difficulty making the writing out.
Of course, you can also order duplicate checks in the side tear format. Duplicate checks are great because they leave a carbon copy of the check that you just wrote behind. This can help you when you start balancing your checkbook.
Side tear checks are usually available at your local bank. If you order them online, however, you can save a good deal of money. Sometimes, ordering personal checks online can save you as much as 50% if you use various check websites.
