How To Accept Checks Online

by James John

Global market of today has become more efficient and effective with all the online payment systems that embody each online business. Online payments have now taken various forms such as credit cards, e-wallets, and e-checks that are now becoming a preferable business solution.

An e-check is an electronic check processing option that works like physical personal checks . Instead of sending sensitive credit card information online which is prone to security leaks, an e-check simply transmits the check information with some other details thereby keeping the credit card information safe. While an e-check may not be perfectly secure, it does offer benefits related to security especially when compared to credit cards.

Receiving checks via internet is quick and simple. Basically, such task requires two steps. Like in ordinary credit card transactions prior to every online purchase, same thing goes with e-checks. Only when it all comes down to payments where you get to see the difference where the client sends all the necessary information on the actual check instead of credit card numbers and some other stuff. Such vital information then undergoes confirmation with the aid of the ACH network where the receiver gets to have a printout of the check before depositing it on his or her bank account right after the transfer of check information. In this process, the software that evaluates the check information is the plays the major key role.

Such method is only doable for electronic checks. Usual payment transactions out of e-checks require the buyer to send the bank routing information and check number instead of the usual credit card details. Electronic checks are the virtual replacements of the actual paper checks. But in this method, the receiver must still have to be able to make a printout of the e-check and have it deposited in the bank. But such method is only possible through the availability of a printing machine directly connected to a processor and has the amount deposited in the receiver's bank account.

But in a much more convenient and faster method, taking a print out of the check isn't necessary anymore where the check gets valuated and cleared and both parties settle the transaction directly through their bank accounts. Under such method, a reliable software is needed that is fully equipped with all the tools needed in evaluating check information such as bank accounts, routing information, and others, which will then transfer the funds through the aid of ACH network. Transaction fees and set up fees are to be expected in such process. In some cases, verification and check guarantee fees are also needed depending on the service provider.

Provided that almost all of us is particularly familiar with checks and check payment transactions, online payments through e-checks is seemingly more appropriate and convenient especially that it requires much lesser training and knowledge unlike with credit cards.
