Can I use a rubber stamp to endorse personal checks?
Can you answer Matthew M's question about Checks?:
I know businesses and organizations use them all the time, but can I use them for personal banking or does my signature need to be on each check I deposit? I looked on my bank website and I could not find any rules or guidelines.

no u can't its illegal
I believe you can. You need to have it made, then go to your bank. Have the stamp added to your signature card. There is some risk involved in this. If you lose the stamp or someone else gets ahold of it, the bank will consider it a valid endorsement.
yes you can
As long as you are depositing the check into your account I dont see why you couldnt. I have deposited my husbands checks and forgot to sign his name all they do is stamp the back of the check in place of his signature. (I dont recall what that stamps says at the moment)
Businesses use them because if you look at that stamp, it says:
For deposit only
ABC Company
Acct: # 123456
If you wanted to buy a stamp that said For Deposit only, your name and your account number, to deposit it into your account, the bank would be just fine with that.
However, if you are taking a check to the bank to cash it, it will require a signature. The bank can't verify your signature against your I.D. if you are stamping the checks to cash them. If you're stamping them to deposit them, they already have verified the account you're depositing it into.
